And what better way to start than with “A Depeche Mode Christmas” at the Debonair Social Club. Local favorite DJ/Promoter Heaven Malone’s night of tributes to the darkly alluring electro-pop legends features EchoNine performing live, with Malone himself and DJ Akira supplying their take in the Depeche Mode style. Over at Hearts it’s world renowned and exceptionally gifted producer/DJ Tommie Sunshine with his unique Rock House, ElectroDiscoPunk, and Lo-Fi Dance Pogo that is guaranteed to make any festive party full of unpredictability and surprises. Sunshine, resembling a clubland version of Willie Nelson but with a bit more dance punch, has been responsible for some dance music’s classic remixes. With over 120 to his name, Sunshine has collaborated with everyone from Kelis to New Order, The Killers to Avril Lavigne to name but four! He has rocked crowds in Mexico City, Barcelona, Munich, Sao Paulo, Berlin and Rio de Janeiro. As a member of Three Maddkatt Courtship with longtime collaborator Felix Da Housecat, Sunshine co-produced the award-winning album “Kittenz & Three Glitz” LP that had Radiohead’s Thom Yorke exclaiming should have been number one all over the world, with the single “Silver Screen (Shower Scene)” continuing to be a dance floor classic. Sunshine is here tonight with residents Just Joey and DJ Hiroki. From 10pm, $10, free before midnight, north Branch Street.

And keeping it suitably unique and special is the Smart Bar party featuring The Opus, Striz, Demchuk, and Young Live. The Opus is duo Mr. Echoes and The Isle of Weight two producers who have come together to combine their haunting styles with deep and passionately penetrating sounds. It’s not your usual house, but is thoughtful, emotional and captivating, with some grooves that get the heart stirring as well as the feet. Not to be missed. Striz, Demchuk, and Young Live open. From 10pm, $5, north Clark Street.
