This laidback English gastro-pub is housed in a historical building and occupies three storeys – one for dining, one for drinking, and another for lounging. It’s great for beers and cocktails after hours, but the food is good, too. Try English crisps, the goat cheese fondue or the famous fish and chips. There are “drink specials” from Tuesdays to Thursdays. The owners of English Bar also run The Central Union Park, Bar Celona, and Grand Central.

Dragonfly Chicago – 832 W Randolph St

If you fancy an upscale Asian-inspired martini lounge, then Dragonfly will fit the bill. The eclectic Mandarin menu – lo mein or pan-fried dumplings paired with colourful martinis – has impressed many food critics. Expect to mingle with well-dressed young professionals as you enjoy the live Gypsy King-esque music. This lounge is reminiscent of the Shanghai supper club of the 1930’s, complete with lounge-cat attitude.

Level Nightclub – 1045 N Rush St

The newly renovated Level Nightclub is attracting a new set of crowd thanks to its facelift – plush lounges, clean lines, a cool stainless steel bar, etc. The numbered Martinis (as in numbered from one to ten) are a definite must-try here. The cover charge and drinks are a bit on the pricier side, but because it’s a hip club, that’s expected. Even club snobs used to the finest in Miami and LA find the DJ’s hip hop beats impressive. If you’re not into hip hop and would prefer a quieter hangout, try the other floors.

The show will capture Kanye’s recent “Stay in School” benefit concert at the Chicago Theatre helpings others in his hometown. The Kanye West Foundation S.H.O.W. (Students Helping Our World) partnered with schools and community organizations to give underprivileged youth access to music production and academic support programs. All proceeds from the concert will benefit Loop Dreams, the signature music production program of the Kanye West Foundation, and the Dr. Donda West Scholarship fund.

If you haven’t heard his name you probably know him for the song called “The Man With The Red Face” which he has remade, with label buddy Funkagenda. The song was originally created by Laurent Garnier.  Mark Knight  is making his way to the top of  DJ Mag Top 100 Poll, currently he is number 42 on the list. Fuel Kitchen presents Mark Grant, who has recently become accepted by the Chicago’s clubbers and according to “The DJ List” “The success of “Dancin’” as Chicago Connection, his union with Cajmere, won Grant mass approval. Chicago Connection was just one of Grant’s successful collaborations on the Cajual label, however. His production with Braxton Holmes remains one of Cajual’s most revisited disco anthems. For labelmates Holmes, Glenn Underground, Andre Harris and Green Velvet, Grant provided pinch hitting with his remixes. His Taste of Cajual CD was named one of “The Top 15 Albums of the Year”, and Grant was held in the limelight. Suddenly the label folded and Grant became a true free agent.” Fuel Kitchen by day has a regular luch menu, including smoothies and java from the very modern looking juice and cofee bar. During the night the bar serves cocktails. Also almost every night there is some kind of live entertainment, which usually means DJs or good stand-up comedy. The whole place looks very modern and sleek, which is accompanied by the tiled bar and red lighting behind it. Enjoy your Tuesday!
