“Oh where to go? Where to go?!”

I can hear the plaintive cries already as clubbers read this, eyes agog at the feast of amazing dance action on offer this weekend. She lies in wait, the beguiling temptress of rhythm, enticing us into her enchanted land of disco, parties, and all-night bootymania.

And it all starts…

Friday, June 25

For all those loving Bhangra and Bollywood, a visit to the Funky Buddha Lounge on west Grand Avenue will ensure your desires are satisfied, with a feast of Asian flavor, heavied-up by Jimmy Singh and Good For Party, and San Fran’s Jimmy Love flown in specially for this monthly hip-shake. Let the Love flow at the Bhangratheque…starts at 9pm, tickets $15 or get a special RSVP pass for $10 by clicking on www.bhangratheque.com/rsvp

If you’re looking for lovely female talent on the dance scene then let Spandexxx be your svengali. This once-a-month showcase at Beauty Bar features a night of nothing but talented females testing their DJ skills under the tutelage of the lovely Mother Hubbard, and A-Cup. There are guests aplenty, incuding Acid Wash from France, and disco crazy Zebo. From 9pm at west Chicago Avenue. $5 gets you in for a late finish. http://www.beautybar.com

Meanwhile, arguably the highlight of the night will be the all-star party occuring at the Sound Bar, west Ontario Street, where you will find the legendary UK spinner Fedde Le Grand. Fedde hit the big time four years ago with his electro house wondergem, “Put Your Hands Up For Detroit”, and has since worked with Madonna and Will.i.Am, whilst keeping pure to his underground and techno roots. With Fedde tonight is Green Velvet, and resident DJ Mixin Marc. From 10pm. Tickets $20, $10, or free before 11.30pm. http://www.sound-bar.com/

And it gets better…

Saturday, June 26

When it all starts kicking off with Dance Syndrome at the Butterfly Social Club…for free! Dance Syndrome is a last-Saturday-of-the-month regular event – but tonight is extra special as it marks the 1st Anniversary of this great club night. So many sounds, so many beats, there’s enough here to get you on your feet – salsa, samba, batucada, latin jazz, baile funk, and so much more. Dizzying you into a heady delights will be Soulphonetics DJ duo Christian Vera, and Caswell James, with live percussionist Daniel Crane adding his unique rhythmic touch. From 9pm, west Grand Avenue. http://www.butterflysocialclub.com

But the anniversaries don’t stop there…

For down at the Manor, north Clark Street, Outfit Events are staging their 4th Anniversary party with DJ’s Dante the Don, and special guest Spider, from LA. This evening has been described as a “cheeky country-club themed mixer”, and sounds like a lot of sensational party fun for $20. http://www.manorchicago.com

However, the biggest party without doubt is going down at the Bottom Lounge, where four rooms will be pulsating to the indie-electro beats of Midnight Conspiracy, and Members Only AV. Le Castle Vania, from Atlanta, and Berlin’s D.I.M. of the Boys Noize Posse, will be guesting along with San Fran’s DZ. Meanwhile in the electro room will be True Villain, Lucky Date, Heaven Malone, among others. Headlining on the top floor in the dubstep room, is Phaded, and Nameloc. But that’s not all. To mark three years on the club scene promoters Custom Vibe have got sessions from broken Disco 1980, BBK, and pals, while resident faves Alex Zelenka, Gemini Club, and the Chicago Workgroup keep it groovy on the main floor. From 9pm in west Lake Street. $20 entry, or $15 in advance from www.dead-fame.com. Check out http://www.bottomlounge.com/ for more details.

And the party mood continues…
